Burning Chrome influenced Johnny Mnemonic

The film adapts "Johnny Mnemonic", a story in Gibson's collection, about a courier who carries stolen data in an implant in his head. Gibson wrote the screenplay himself, and the film expands the story's few pages into a chase across a plague-ridden future.
