Terms of Service

By accessing, browsing, or creating a contributor account on the Media Influence Map (mediainfluencemap.com), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you are not permitted to use our services. Browsing the map is open to everyone; contributing requires an account.

To contribute you create an account either with an email and password or by continuing with Google. You may optionally enable two-factor authentication for extra protection. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity carried out under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

You keep ownership of what you submit, but by contributing a work, connection, vote, comment or correction you grant MIM a worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, store, moderate, edit and distribute it as part of the public graph, including in aggregate and de-identified form. Contributions accepted into the map may remain after you close your account so the shared record stays intact. You confirm you have the right to submit what you contribute and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights.

The platform exists to track transparent, chronological creative lineages. Coordinated manipulation, multi-account (sybil) submissions, automated scraping or farming scripts, and the deliberate injection of fabricated or knowingly false relationships to distort the map are prohibited. Moderation happens in the open, and contributions can be reviewed, discussed, supported, challenged, or rejected by the community.

⚠️ Serious or repeated violations may result in removal of contributions and suspension or termination of the account.

The MIM name, interface, design, and underlying software are the property of the Media Influence Map and its authors. The factual graph itself — which works exist and how they connect — is a community resource: you may reference or share it for research, journalism, and education with clear attribution and a link back to mediainfluencemap.com. Individual works, cover images, and metadata remain the property of their respective rights holders and are shown for reference and identification only.

Connections are proposed and evaluated by the community and by automated chronology checks; they represent evolving interpretation, not settled fact, and the service is provided 'as is' without warranties of accuracy, availability, or uptime. To the fullest extent permitted by law, MIM is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the platform or reliance on its data.

We may update these Terms as the platform evolves; the 'Last Updated' date reflects the current version, and continued use after a change means you accept it. These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal, and the courts of Portugal have jurisdiction — without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the law of your own country of residence.
