鹤铁五部 (The Crane-Iron Pentalogy) influenced 臥虎藏龍 (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon)

Ang Lee's film adapts the fourth novel of Wang Dulu's five-book sequence. The Jen and Lo storyline, which the film tells in flashback, is the part of the source that the wuxia readership already knew, and the ending Lee keeps is Wang's rather than an invention.
