The most dangerous game influenced Predator

Connell's story is where hunting people for sport became a form, and Predator is its most-copied inversion. From the story: a hunter who has exhausted animals and moved on to the only prey that can think; a bounded hunting ground; a victim who survives by becoming a hunter, setting traps and using the terrain; and the trophy as the point of it. The inversion is the whole idea of the film. The hunter is not an aristocrat but a creature from elsewhere, and the men being hunted are the most heavily armed soldiers available, which is what makes them worth the trip.
