About the work

The Dark World

Edward Bond, an American airman, is pulled into a parallel world where everyone greets him as Ganelon, a warlock lord of the Coven who serves a devouring god and rules by fear. He has to work out which of the two men he actually is while the world he was stolen into waits for him to take up his old cruelties. Written for the pulps in 1946, it is the portal fantasy that Roger Zelazny's Amber books are repeatedly said to descend from.
