Dr Frank-N-Furter's name and his central act come from Frankenstein: in his laboratory he builds a man, Rocky, and brings him to life on the night the story takes place. MEDIUM, because the film parodies horror and science-fiction films generally, and its Frankenstein material comes mostly through the Universal films rather than from Shelley's novel.
