Jim Sharman's film adapts Richard O'Brien's stage musical with much of its London cast, including O'Brien and Tim Curry as Frank-N-Furter: Brad and Janet, stranded in a storm, stumble into a castle of aliens and a man built in a laboratory. It became the longest-running release in film history as a midnight show.
