Robert Wise's film adapts the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical about Maria and the von Trapp family, keeping its songs and adding two new ones, "I Have Confidence" and "Something Good", while moving much of the action out of the stage's rooms and onto the Alps and the streets of Salzburg.
